Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship Side Walkers MVTH volunteers are needed as side-walkers. Most riders require two side-walkers...one on each side of the horse. Side-walkers focus on the rider at all times; helping with stability, watching for signs of weakness or pain, and encouraging concentration and speech. Side-walkers are also trained on how to grab a child off the horse, should the horse experience problems. Lessons are 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Street Level Cape Girardeau Street Level Volunteer Street Level is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to aiding, assisting, and advocating for people surviving homelessness. Street Level feed, shelter when funding is available, assist with clothing and toiletries, and respond to needs. The Street Level Organization has grown and we are in need of volunteers to help with some of the following:

Make snack bags, set-up meal and monitor, sort and distribute clothes and toiletries, clean-up after hours, assist where needed, and cook meals for our Meal Train.

Voices for Children/CASA of Southeast Missouri Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Make a real difference in the lives of abused and neglected children in our community by volunteering with us. Voices for Children CASA of Southeast Missouri has opportunities for volunteers to contribute their time by advocating and mentoring children in foster care.
CASA Volunteers are the voice of these children and will meet with their child/children regularly to report progress. CASA Volunteers receive 30 hours of training before service, become officers of the court, and advocate for abused and neglected children. Each year, CASA Volunteers are required to complete 12 additional training hours. Before training, all volunteers will undergo an application and screening process.
